Singapore Political Pay Packets
With the Lion City election really beginning to heat up here I found
this to be a really interesting article, and quite amazing to be
honest.
politicians top, top dollar. This was based on the premise that if
there was enough bugs bunny going in their pockets it would eliminate
any need, or indeed greed, from those fine upstanding elected (though
some might argue erected) members to further grease their own palms.
As we saw in the UK with the expenses scandal that continues to bite,
and jail, and indeed as often seems to be a common problem across the
globe, surely any elimination of temptation would be a good thing? But at what cost i.e. how much does it actually take to stop an MP
poking their fingers in the financial theft pie? Well according to the details given below and using my rough and ready
fag packet math it seems to be about $2 million on average. It would
appear that from across the globe, the top 30 highest paid politicians
in the world are all from Singapore!! No wonder it is seen as a career
of choice, or should I say lifetime. That is a lot of cash. But is it
money well spent? I do caveat this by saying I would guess these figures are taken from
where there is access to published public accounts. Let's face it,
there are some out there in political power that are raping their
people, their countries and anyone or anything else they can get their
grubby hands on for every penny and pound they can possibly plunder. Before you read the list however and should anyone out there be
actually reading this and would care; and I'd argue everyone in Europe
should, how can we find out the EMP's expense bill for those riding
the big fat Euro Parliament gravy train? I have no doubt that would be
a real shocker. Maybe something Julian Assange and the Wikileaks
inspectors should try and get their hands on? The TOP 30 highest paid politicians in the world (and all from Singapore): 1. Elected President SR Nathan - S$3.9 million.

2. Though it is based on an estimate, the data cannot be far off the
official salary scales. The above was posted in redbeanforum by Green Peas, reposted by

by my mate Bill on his farcebook page where I lifted it from in the
spirit of journalistic enterprise. Dare to comment?
